About the Participant

Prof. Dr. Andrii Kolesnykov is a dialectologist, sociolinguist, and grammarian. Since 2000, he has worked at Izmail State University for the Humanities in various positions, including lecturer, associate professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Training and Postgraduate Education (2003–2008). Since 2016 – professor and Нead of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at Izmail State University of Humanities.

Prof. Dr. Kolesnykovʼs research contributions include his PhD thesis on the syntagmatic of a category of number of morphologically defective nouns (2001), his habilitation on the morphology of Ukrainian dialects spread between the Dniester and Danube rivers (2015), atlas of Ukrainian dialects spread between the Dniester and Danube rivers (2016). Prof. Dr. Kolesnykov is also the author of textbooks for students of higher education institutions on the grammar of the Ukrainian language (2020, 2024, 2025).

Нe has also managed and participated in various scientific projects addressing language diversity and minority languages, notably the “Description and Mapping of the Space between the Danube and the Dniester rivers – a New European Model of Conflict-free Interaction of Different System Languages and Dialects” (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 2016–2018)”; “Contested Language Diversity – Dealing with Minority Languages in post-Soviet Ukraine” (Germany, 2020–2023).
